Marvel Studios is currently on a hot streak of exciting releases in 2024. The studio started strong with the premiere of the animated revival of X-Men: The Animated Series with X-Men ’97. The show reinvigorated excitement amongst the fanbase on two fronts, encouraging excitement for future animated series from Marvel Animation Studios and generating hype for the future of the X-Men and X-Men-related stories. Next on the docket, fans can look forward to the release of Deadpool & Wolverine in theaters this month and the Agatha All Along premiere in September. However, there is at least one more project fans can look forward to for release later this year: the Black Panther-based series, Eyes of Wakanda.

Eyes of Wakanda is an upcoming animated series that will explore the history of Wakanda and its brave warriors throughout history. The series, produced by Ryan Coogler and directed by Todd Harris, will tie directly to the story of MCU, according to Brad Winderbaum on the Official Marvel Podcast.

The story’s premise follows; “Throughout Wakandan history, brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts. This is their story.” (quote via Variety) Outside of this information, very little has been confirmed about the show, and much has been rumored throughout the past few months. However, in this article, we reveal some exciting new updates about the show, and what they can expect.

Eyes of Wakanda animation studios and styles

The Cosmic Circus can exclusively report that Axis Studios is at least one of the studios working on the animation for Eyes of Wakanda. Axis Studios is a highly renowned animation and VFX studio. Some of their works include:

  • Love, Death & Robots: Mason’s Rats
  • Love, Death & Robots: The Tall Grass
  • Love, Death & Robots: Helping Hand
  • Palia
  • Scrooge: A Christmas Carol
  • Valorant
  • Destiny 2
  • Diablo II

According to our sources, we can also report that the show’s animation style will be fully CG animated, representing Axis Studios’ previous work. Sources have also described the show as “very fast-paced, fluid, exhilarating, and very exciting.”

Story points for Marvel’s Eyes of Wakanda

During one of the recent Discord Q/As, I told people that if they were interested in a future storyline of the MCU, “they should look to the stars—specifically, Eternals Vol. 3.” Many people assumed I was referring to a future Eternals adventure, but I was not. I was referring to a story that will be a plot point for one of the upcoming episodes in Eyes of Wakanda, which will feature the introduction of The Horde, an alien race that debuted in the Eternals Vol. 3 comic.

This particular story is exciting for several reasons. While I cannot report on the details of this episode yet, the implications the episode will have for the future of the MCU are very exciting since the show ties directly to the MCU and, in addition, it very much has to do with the overall theme of the Multiverse Saga.

Do not sleep on this upcoming Marvel animated series

Lastly, there have also been rumors about other episodes of Eyes of Wakanda, including the incorporation of Greek Gods and even the appearance of an Iron Fist. We can report that we’re being told there is validity to these rumors from various sources. Overall, it’s best to say, do not sleep on this show.
