‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Season Finale Review

The Obi-Wan Kenobi season finale has sadly come and gone. The last five weeks have been some of my favorite Star Wars content and I’m so sad it’s over. Here are some of my thoughts on the finale with some minor spoilers and the show altogether.

[Warning: Some mild spoilers for the Obi-Wan Kenobi season finale and the series are discussed below!]

The show was exactly what I expected it to be, a character-focused story. I loved that we dove into Obi-Wan’s (Ewan McGregor) character. We got to see his guilt, his struggles over the last decade, and him finding his confidence again.

The emotional culmination of the finale was a rollercoaster that was unbelievably epic. All the loose ends were tied up perfectly so you know exactly where the story heads next which is into A New Hope in a few years.

The final fight between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) was the rematch we have all been waiting for! I wasn’t expecting a lightsaber fight that huge between them which had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I also wasn’t expecting that Rebels parallel at the end of their fight that left me sobbing.

Reva’s (Moses Ingram) ending was handled so well and you did feel bad for her in the end. I thought her story was incredibly interesting so I’d love to see her come back one day.

Even if it’s in a book or comic, I just want to know more about Reva and how she survived everything that was thrown at her. I do wonder where she goes from here. She doesn’t necessarily have to go into hiding because the Empire thinks she’s dead. Reva is free to go where she wants or stay on Tatooine.

Having Leia (Vivien Lyra Blair) in the show was a happy surprise to me. I loved Vivien Lyra Blair as Leia, she was perfect casting.

As someone who grew up with the prequels, this show has given me a new appreciation for Leia’s character and the original trilogy. So many small details feel like they were explained here from the original trilogy in such a creative way.
