The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a massive cultural phenomenon for over a decade, with each new release garnering immense hype and box-office success. They’ve become known worldwide for their ambitious and tightly interconnected cinematic universe, with each new film or television series building upon the last. However, Marvel Studios’ previous few projects have hit some bumps in the road, with a string of delays and changes to the slate, as well as the underperformance of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. While these setbacks may have some worried about the future of the MCU, we can assure you it’s not all doom and gloom, and in fact, we have some interesting Secret Invasion details about the Skrull’s hideout, among other things, to share today.

As mentioned in a previous article, the delays reflect the studio’s commitment to quality and willingness to take the time to get things right. While it may be frustrating for fans eager for new content, the end result will likely be worth the wait, with carefully crafted stories and characters that will surely delight audiences for years to come. One of the projects Marvel fans can surely expect to see this year will be the upcoming release of Secret Invasion.

A few Secret Invasion details…

The upcoming Marvel Studios’ Disney+ show, Secret Invasion, stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos. The show is based on a storyline from Marvel Comics, but the official synopsis from Marvel Studios describes it as a series about a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.

We have learned from our sources that the show brings back the incredible spy-thriller vibes reminiscent of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Each episode leaves more twists and turns than ever, leaving fans with more questions than answers.

Regarding the rebel Skrull hideout and what they may be doing there

One detail that was mentioned to us by our sources is the explanation for why a portion of this show appears to be taking place in Russia. According to our sources, Russia (and their nearby countries) will serve as key locations to the rogue sect of Skrulls led by Kingsley Ben-Adir‘s character.

One source has mentioned that a specific region will play a crucial role in the plans that the Rogue Skrulls have set in motion. This region will be an abandoned nuclear power plant, potentially Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. However, it is not confirmed whether or not Marvel will flat-out reveal that this abandoned nuclear site is, in fact, Chernobyl or only allude to it and not mention it by name.

The reason the rebel Skrulls are hiding out in this abandoned power plant is that they are currently building a device in the underground levels of the plant, seen in the D23 trailer as screenshotted above. This device, we’re told, requires a decent amount of power.

While our sources could not confirm what exactly the device does, our current theory is that it could be used to introduce a new threat to the MCU: Super Skrulls. But more on that theory at a later date.

Rumored release window for Secret Invasion, and what our sources say

In terms of its release, the show was initially scheduled to release in Spring 2023, but since then, that release window has been scrapped and pushed back a few months to help better their product. Now it’s been rumored that the show has landed a release window between May-July, with some reports (via Direct ) that it would air sometime in June.

Our sources inform us that they agree with this timeframe, with some saying that the show will most likely air near the end of Q2 towards the end of June.

Regardless of the delays and shifts in the slate, we cannot wait for Marvel to finally unveil Secret Invasion, and we’re confident the show will help get Marvel Studios back on track with Phase 5 and the Multiverse Saga.
